Our surgery team is currently looking for two Trauma and Acute Care Surgeons to join their team. These are new positions designed as a shift-based model to cover the ED and manage trauma patients in the ICU. Here are some highlights you can expect.
- You would practice at Good Samaritan Medical Center, a level II trauma center in Lafayette, CO just outside of Denver
- You will work 16, 12 hour shifts in a month covering the ED and ICU
- Back up call will be split evenly by the entire surgery team consisting of 3 elective surgeons, the 2 trauma and acute care surgeons, and 1 additional surgeon
- During your shift, you may also have clinic ~1 time (1/2 day) per week for follow-ups
Compensation: We are offering a competitive base salary of $485,000 plus up to a $10,000 annual quality incentive. Due to the shift-based nature of this position, there is no vacation time or CME time. However, all other full time benefits apply to include up to $5,000 annually for CME, a $25,000 Sign on Bonus and a $15,000 Relocation bonus (relo bonus available if applicable). Your experience. We hire people, not words on paper. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:
- MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
- Unrestricted Colorado physician license, or able to obtain
- Residency trained in General Surgery
- Board certified or eligible in General Surgery
- A Surgical Critical Care Fellowship is highly desired
- If no fellowship, a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Trauma/Acute Care Surgeon in a level II trauma center is required
- Must be competent at full spectrum of acute surgeries to include but not limited to ruptured diverticulitis, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, appendicitis, colon resection, perforated ulcers etc
- DEA, ATLS
