As a Tax Litigation Attorney, you will be a critical part of our dynamic legal team. This position provides an exciting opportunity to handle complex tax litigation cases and work with a diverse range of clients. You will have the chance to take on significant responsibility, work independently, and make meaningful contributions to our clients' success. This role is ideal for a highly motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to apply their expertise in sales tax, tax litigation, and Texas tax audit.
Responsibilities
1. Represent clients in tax litigation cases before various courts and administrative bodies to contest tax assessments.
2. Conduct research and analysis of complex tax issues and provide clear, concise, and practical advice.
3. Prepare and present oral and written arguments to support client positions.
4. Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and tax authorities.
5. Assist in the development and implementation of tax strategies to minimize tax liability and risks.
6. Collaborate with team members to ensure a comprehensive approach to client representation.
7. Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations and advise clients accordingly.
8. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
Qualifications
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admitted to practice law in the state of Texas.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax litigation, with a particular focus on sales tax and Texas tax audits.
4. Proven track record of successfully representing clients in tax litigation cases.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex tax issues.
6. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present arguments clearly and persuasively.
7. Strong negotiation skills, with a proven ability to reach favorable settlements.
8. Ability to work independently, manage multiple cases simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
9. High degree of professionalism and adherence to strict confidentiality and ethical standards.
