Job Description

Valparaiso Family Dentistry is a leading dental practice committed to delivering high-quality dental care to our patients. We pride ourselves on our exceptional team of professionals dedicated to creating a comfortable and friendly environment for our patients. We are seeking a highly-skilled oral surgeon to diagnose patients and treat various conditions affecting oral health. Responsibilities include performing emergency and scheduled treatments, maintaining patient records, as well as providing suitable after-care instructions and recommendations.

To be successful as an oral surgeon, you should be compassionate towards patients and able to handle stressful situations. Ultimately, an outstanding oral surgeon should have excellent hand-eye coordination as well as demonstrate exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.

Location: Valparaiso, IN

Flexibility in days/hours and locations - The need is for 8 - 10 days a month. We are flexible on days for the right candidate.

Qualifications:

Doctor of dental surgery (DDS) or Doctor of medicine in dentistry (DMD).
Post-graduate of a U.S. surgical program with a certificate to practice Oral Surgery
Appropriate state licensure.
Proven experience working as an oral Surgeon
IV Sedation Certified

Oral Surgeon Responsibilities:

Performing biopsies to determine whether tumors or growths are cancerous.
Administering local, regional, or general anesthetics to patients before surgeries.
Surgically removing tumors and abnormal growths of the oral and maxillofacial areas.
Removing impacted wisdom teeth and buried dental roots.
Preparing patients' mouths for dental implants.
Collaborating with various healthcare specialists to create suitable treatment plans for patients.
Informing patients of their diagnoses and discussing appropriate treatment options with them.
