**Duties**

** Summary**

As a Senior Interior Designer, you will operate as a subject matter and program expert for the Interior Design and Workplace Solutions sections.

**Location of position: Public Buildings Service (PBS), Office of Design and Construction, Philadelphia, PA.**

We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.

**Responsibilities**

The major duties of the Senior Interior Designer GS-13 include but are not limited to the following:

+ Provide and/or facilitate technical training for new hires and journeyman level Workplace Specialists and Interior Designers in conjunction with the supervisor(s).

+ Provide quality assurance on technical documentation and other Workplace Specialist (WS) or Interior Design (ID) deliverables to ensure consistency within the sections.

+ Serve as Furniture Consultant, providing expert guidance to the Interior Design and Workplace teams on emerging industry trends and updates to the GSA contract.

+ Develop and present marketing materials to customers and GSA.

+ Serve as Workplace Consultant, presenting GSA Workplace Solutions services and/or new office space strategies to customers. **Travel Required**

+ The work is primarily sedentary, but may require walking on hard surfaces and standing for long periods of time. During project site visits, the incumbent may be required to walk, bend, and be exposed to the environment and the hazards of the project site.

+ The work is primarily performed in an office environment, although visits to building/construction sites may require recurring exposure to a variety of conditions such as dust and chemical odors, slippery or uneven ground, falling objects, noise, dust, and environmental or other discomforts or hazards. ** Qualifications**

The GS-13 salary range starts at $100,161.00 per year.

To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service. **Specialized experience is experience providing technical guidance and oversight of interior design and space planning projects. Such experience must include:**

+ **Overseeing and directing the development of interior design and space planning projects.**

+ **Monitoring and directing the technical execution of space planning/interior design program requirements.**

+ **Executing complex interior design/space planning projects.** Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- interior design or other field that included or was supplemented by at least 30 semester hours in interior design, interior architecture, or interior environmental design; or passage of the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) examination.

+ Expert knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, and techniques of interior design, space management and space planning, layout, furniture and interior design in order to serve as a regional expert in the design and workplace area.

+ Expert knowledge of national & industry standards relating to workplace strategy, space planning, interior design & furniture.

+ Expert knowledge of advanced and innovative space planning and interior design applications and practices, with expert ability to implement state-of-the-art planning techniques to meet unusual requirements.

+ Expert skill and ability to communicate effectively and persuasively orally, graphically, and in writing. Expert ability to develop visual representations and present them in a persuasive fashion; including the ability to draft working drawings and to do freehand and computer ai sketching and rendering.

+ Knowledge of GSA and Federal regulations for procurement and contract administration including the Federal Property Management Regulations; Federal Acquisition Regulations; simplified acquisition procedures; GSA Acquisition Manual and Federal Acquisition Service.
