POSITION SUMMARY The job purpose of a Front Desk Night Auditor is to provide a high level of guest service by giving prompt courteous attention to all guest interactions. Additionally, the Night Auditor is responsible for completing all aspects of the night audit. This position is an overnight shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES (list in order of importance)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - FRONT DESK - Develops computer systems technical knowledge.
- Learns the SMS (reservation and front office system) and the RTP (ticketing system).
- Develops lodging accommodations knowledge.
- Learn about all of the resort's accommodations. We currently have 33 distinct complexes with approximately 1,200 rental units including hotel rooms, condominiums and private homes.
- Acquires understanding and knowledge of lodging rates.
- Learns the rate structures and knows where to find the rates for each lodging accommodation including rack, discount seasons and packages.
- Develops general resort knowledge.
- Learns the information and pricing for lift tickets, ski rentals, ski lessons, adventure products and special events.
- Confirms lodging accommodations and resort activities.
- Greet guests, review reservations and make necessary changes.
- Reserves lodging accommodations and resort activities for walk-in guests by explaining available lodging and activity options, quoting rates and booking reservation.
- Collects and reconciles daily transactions.
- Collects folio balances, performs required accounting procedures, processes a shift report, and balances cash drawer.
- Achieves a high quality of guest service.
- Answers inquiries concerning recreational opportunities, scenic attractions, special events, entertainment, shopping, eating establishments, travel routes and all general information.
- Maintains guest confidentiality.
- Safeguards credit card information, room numbers, addresses, phone numbers and issuing proper keys.
- Maintains rapport with housekeeping and maintenance services.
- Relays information regarding early checkouts, walk- in's, room changes and by reporting housekeeping and maintenance problems or issues as reported by our guests.
- Organizes and maintains daily operations by relaying information, ensuring reports or supplies are ready for the next shift, maintaining the front desk in a clean and orderly fashion, and keeping information racks full of brochures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES - NIGHT AUDIT - The night audit has three specific stages including the SMS night audit, the processing of daily housekeeping reports, and the Shift4 credit card settlement.
Stage 1: SMS Night Audit The Night Audit consists of multiple steps that must occur in a specific order.
- Step 1: processing of phase 1 batch reports (pre end of day reports)
- Step 2: the posting of housekeeping charges
- Step 3: the processing of the Golf POS nightly audit
- Step 4: obtain and execute exclusive use steps (such as re-indexing, posting room and tax, etc.) culminating in the end of day process
- Step 5: the processing of phase 2 batch reports (accounting reports)
- Step 6: the processing of phase 3 batch reports (post end of day reports)
Stage 2: Processing of Housekeeping Reports - The night auditor updates the housekeeping service marks for all rental units then processes individual housekeeping reports for all third party housekeeping services.
Stage 3: Shift 4 credit card settlement - The night auditor reconciles the credit card charges in SMS and Shift4 and submits the batches for deposit.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Education: High school diploma/equivalent.
Experience: Applicant should possess basic knowledge of accounting operations, mathematical skills and computing skills. Previous front office/hotel experience preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS Supervisory Responsibilities - This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

He/she will report to Operations and Sales Managers. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Any employee or volunteer who operates a company vehicle including cars, trucks, snowcats, snowmobiles, or heavy equipment is required to comply with the Driver's Standards Policy. This policy also applies to employees or volunteers driving their personal vehicles for company business more than four times per month, averaging 30+ miles per trip. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Office Environment : - Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
- Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
- Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching and speaking on a constant basis.
- Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on and occasional basis.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
