Job Description
Tesla seeks a Maintenance Technician to ensure the operational efficiency of manufacturing equipment. Apply mechanical, electrical, and automation skills to maintain, repair, and optimize equipment performance.
Responsibilities - Manage production line equipment: respond to alarms, breakdowns, and requests efficiently
- Diagnose and resolve equipment failures, identifying root causes and actions taken
- Achieve Journeyman Level on assigned machines, handling preventative maintenance and repairs
- Improve PM documents and schedules with Maintenance Supervisor and Leads
- Perform major repairs and rebuilds, including occasional weekends and holidays
- Utilize manufacturing systems (MES, Spares Inventory, Issue Tracking)
- Collaborate with Process and Equipment Engineering to enhance equipment reliability and minimize downtime
Requirements - Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Technology preferred, or 3+ years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLCs highly desired
- Experience with Fanuc or Kuka robots is a plus
- Specialization in electrical/electronics, mechanical/machining, or automation/PLC/robotics
- Skilled in troubleshooting automation, conveyance, and electromechanical systems
- Proficient with hand tools, portable tools, machining, and welding
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
Physical Demands:
- Perform physically demanding work for up to 12 hours a day
- Stand, walk, and traverse uneven terrain for extended periods
- Lift, push, and carry up to 50 lbs., including up and down stairs
- Frequently bend, lift, reach, and perform repetitive tasks
- Work in various positions such as stooping, kneeling, and crouching
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders or scaffolding
- Follow safety protocols, including wearing PPE and adhering to site safety standards
