Job Summary

Provides system-wide direction and management to the physician and advanced practice provider compensation and payroll functions for Sanford. Provides leadership and assistance in developing, maintaining, and producing provider compensation plans and processes. Assists in achieving enterprise clinic standardization and initiatives. Oversees the enterprise physician compensation system which provides timely and accurate financial information for internal management and external reporting. Designs, develops, researches, and communicates the physician and advanced practice provider compensation plans and benefits to achieve standardization across all regions. Serves as a mentor and educator to all Sanford Health leaders and providers of each region regarding compensation and payroll policies, procedures, reports, and regulatory requirements. Provides leadership and assessment of market trends, plan design and information management to support administration of physician compensation for Sanford Health; leads the development and implementation of advanced practice provider incentive plans. Oversees the development and implementation of the annual market review and operating budget process for physician and advanced practice provider compensation and benefits. Identifies information systems needs for the physician compensation and physician payroll functions, participate in the selection of applications, and direct the implementation and management of those systems. Documents reasonable provider compensation standards and develops systems to evaluate offers and current compensation against those standards.

Monitors payroll regulations for changes impacting processes, procedures or reporting requirements. Assists in identifying areas of variation between regions in financial tracking and reporting. Assists leadership in working with regional and enterprise finance teams on standardizing those areas of variance while continuing to meet the information and tracking needs of operations. Awareness of and ability to design, implement, and evaluate compensation programs, policies and processes within the organization focused on strategic thinking and market research.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in accounting, finance, business, or healthcare administration. Master's degree preferred, but not required.

Minimum of five years' experience in health care accounting, physician compensation or financial management. Three years leadership/management experience required. Knowledge of health care industry accounting principles, practices and related laws and regulations is required.
