Our corporate Merchandising Department is seeking an experienced **CONSUMER ELECTRONICS RETAIL BUYER** with a minimum of 5-7 years of retail buying experience for the position of Merchandise Manager for various consumer electronics and computer categories. **T****his is a REMOTE, WORK FROM HOME opportunity** with a monthly travel requirement.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Achieves gross margin, sales and total inventory turn objectives for assigned computer parts and accessories categories

* Negotiate costs and terms of business with vendors

* Negotiate vendor support (co-op)

* Select and negotiate "Best in Class" hot offers for our customers

* Select and drive assortments which build the "Best Computer Store in the World"

* Oversee and manage all vendor activities

* Selects and purchases merchandise including type, quality, source, timing, delivery, mix and promotion for assigned merchandise category

+ Creates and implements plans to maximize gross profit by coordinating sales, gross margin, inventory turnover, cost of promotion and markdowns for assigned category

* Recommends and directs the development and implementation of category merchandise strategy and tactical plans

* Coordinates with the Web Development team and Advertising/Marketing team to maximize merchandising opportunities. Proofs ad copy, page layout and design, and ensures web specifications and photos are accurate

* Develops and communicates effective merchandising programs at store level

* Participates in evaluating new business opportunities consistent with Micro Centers short and long-term business strategies

+ Monitors prices with competitors of assigned categories

+ Forecasts top selling SKUs for assigned categories (weekly, monthly, quarterly)

* In partnership with the store sales management team, ensures store merchandising standards are executed, including store displays and visual merchandising

+ Collaborates with the following functional partners to achieve business and organization objective:

* Distribution and Transportation

* Stores (Sales and Operations)

* Web Development

* Advertising/Marketing

* Accounting

+ Planning and Allocation

* Completes all other responsibilities as assigned

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:**

* B.S Degree in Retail Merchandising, Marketing, or Business preferred

+ **A minimum of 5-7 years merchant experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer in the Consumer Electronics industry is required**

* Strong negotiation skills needed; a proven track record of establishing and maintaining positive relationships with vendors is a plus

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Strong analytical and retail math skills

* Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work with speed and accuracy

+ Must be a detail-oriented team player

* Knowledge of purchasing and forecasting systems require as well as proficiency in MS Office and Filemaker
